A visa to reside in Spain without engaging in income-generating activities (work or professional activities), provided that you have guaranteed and sufficient means of subsistence. This visa does not grant the right to work.

Procedure
The Spanish Embassy in Astana and the BLS Visa Center are authorized to accept visa applications from persons residing in the consular district (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan).
All visas for residence without the right to work require an initial temporary residence permit, which is considered simultaneously with the visa application.
Who can apply for a visa: the visa application is submitted in person by the interested party or by one of their parents if the applicant is a minor.
Where to apply: Applications must be submitted in person at the BLS Visa Center in Astana and Almaty by appointment. To do so, you must fill out the appointment form here. Opens in a new window and send it by email to: emb.astana.sc@maec.es
Confirmation of submission: The Embassy will issue the interested party with a receipt for the application with a code that allows them to check the status of the file at: https://sutramiteconsular.maec.es/Home.aspx Opens in a new window The Embassy will give the interested party a copy of the application form (form EX07) and, if necessary, confirmation of payment of the fee (form 790-52).
Making corrections to the application: The Embassy may ask the applicant to provide missing or additional documents or information necessary for the consideration of the application. It may also call the applicant for a personal interview.
Processing time: the legal deadline for making a decision is 3 months from the date of application, a period which may be extended if additional documents are requested or an interview is conducted.
Visa revocation: The visa must be revoked in person by the interested party or their legal representative (if the applicant is a minor) within a maximum period of 1 month from the day following the date of notification of the positive decision. The Embassy will inform the applicant of the procedure for returning the passport and original documents.
Refusal of residence permit or visa: where applicable, refusal of a residence permit or visa will be communicated in writing, stating the reasons for the decision.
Appeal: in the event of a refusal to grant a residence permit or visa, the applicant may lodge an appeal for reconsideration of the application with the consulate within 1 month from the day following the date of notification of the refusal. It is also possible to lodge an administrative appeal with the High Court of Madrid within two months of the date following the date of notification of refusal to issue a visa, residence permit, or rejection of the application for review.
Visa validity: the visa will be valid for 365 days. Upon arrival in Spain, you must apply for a foreigner's identity card within 1 month of entering the country at the Foreigners' Registration Office or the relevant police station.

1. Application form for a national visa Opens in a new window. Each applicant must complete all sections and sign the visa application form. If the applicant is a minor, the application must be signed by one of their parents or guardians, or a duly authorized representative.

3. Photograph. A recent color passport-size photograph against a light background, taken full face, without dark glasses, glare, or clothing covering the oval of the face.
4. Valid passport. Original and photocopy of the page or pages with biometric data of the passport. The passport must be valid for at least another year and have two blank pages. Passports issued more than 10 years ago are not accepted.
5. Proof of financial means. Original and copy of documents proving that the applicant has sufficient financial means to cover the costs of living in Spain during the first year of the residence permit and proof that he or she has a source of regular income for himself or herself and, if necessary, for accompanying family members. The minimum amount required is 400% of the IPREM (Multifunctional General Income Indicator). To this amount, 100% of the IPREM must be added for each family member. Bank statements must be originals and contain the following information:
Account balance as of December 31 of the previous year and average balance for that year. If necessary, in addition to the documents provided, the Embassy has the right to request any information it deems necessary for consideration of the case. (For example, documents confirming the source of income, availability of funds, original bank statements for current accounts and their corresponding extracts; documents confirming the availability of housing in Spain, etc.)
6. Medical insurance. The original and a copy of the certificate of public or private health insurance issued by an insurance company authorized to conduct business in Spain. The insurance policy must cover the entire period of residence (1 year) and cover all risks insured by the Spanish public health system. 7. Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants who have reached the age of criminal responsibility must provide the original and a copy of a certificate of no criminal record issued by the country or countries of residence for the last 5 years. Documents issued by foreign authorities must be legalized or apostilled and, if necessary, accompanied by a translation into Spanish.
8. Medical certificate. The original and a copy of a medical certificate confirming that the applicant does not suffer from any diseases that could have serious consequences for public health in accordance with the International Health Regulations of 2005. 9. Proof of residence in the consular district. If the applicant is not a citizen of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, or Tajikistan, proof of legal residence in one of these three countries must be provided: a residence permit or study permit.
10. Payment of fees. To pay the consular fee for a residence permit, you must fill in all fields and sign two copies of form 790, code 052, section 2.1Opens in a new window (initial temporary residence permit).
